The Standard

Every route covered, on one platform

Address verification isn't one process. A delivery partner needs a fast digital match; a bank manager needs a physical field visit. Papertrail orchestrates all of them.

Utility bills

Electricity bill, rent agreement or property tax receipt checked against the declared address.

Postal network

India Post delivery confirmation, used when a field agent can't reach the address inside the standard TAT.

Field verification

A trained agent visits in person and interviews at least two neighbours before the visit counts as complete.

Digital GPS

The visiting agent's photo is geo-tagged and timestamped at the moment it's taken, not entered by hand.

Registry

Rental or ownership paperwork cross-checked against the notary or municipal registry number.

The Data

Field by field

Every field below is checked against a named source or physical visit, not inferred. Open one to see the declared value beside what the verification actually returned.

Declared vs document address

The address on file is matched against rent, utility or property documents before a visit is even scheduled.

Digital address confirmation

Live simulation

Watch each address source answer, one at a time

Four channels, four different mechanics. Pick one to watch that route run — the identifier or the visit request going in, the exchange with the source, and the evidence that comes back.

Declared address · PIN
How it runs

From consent to a routed decision

Three stages, the first two running for every candidate, the third only when something needs a human.

Phase 01

Route the address

Address type and role risk decide whether this goes digital or to a field agent.

Phase 02

Visit and capture

An agent visits in person, captures a geo-tagged photo, and speaks to at least two neighbours.

Phase 03

Reconcile and close

Findings are reconciled against the declared address before the case closes.

Two ways this check closes

What a discrepancy looks like — next to what a clean pass looks like

Most cases close like the record on the right. The one on the left is a real failure mode, with the evidence attached exactly as an adjudicator would see it.

Marked 'address discrepancy — unable to confirm' rather than a hard fail. The candidate was given 5 working days to submit an alternate address or supporting document before the report was finalised — none was provided, and the flag went to the hiring manager as-is.

FAQ

Questions HR and risk teams actually ask

  • The field agent works from the last known address and interviews current residents and neighbours. If nobody can confirm the candidate ever lived there, the case is marked insufficient with a documented reason — it isn't silently passed or hard-failed.

  • It's driven by the role's risk tier, the address type, and how complete the supporting documents are. A well-documented, low-risk address can clear digitally; anything ambiguous or high-risk routes to a field agent.

  • The agent schedules a second attempt and, if that also fails, relies on neighbour statements to determine occupancy. After a defined number of attempts, the address is marked insufficient rather than left open indefinitely.

  • The agent's device captures GPS coordinates and a timestamp at the moment the photo is taken, through the field app rather than a manually entered location. A geo-tag that doesn't match the declared address is flagged for review, not silently accepted.

  • Overseas addresses are confirmed digitally or through a local verification partner rather than a Papertrail field agent, which extends the standard turnaround to roughly 7–10 days.
