Credit & financial check
Assess financial exposure for roles that handle money — credit history, defaults, insolvency filings and undisclosed directorships.

Four registries, at a glance
We connect directly to national credit bureaus, MCA, and IBBI for financial and directorship verification. Hover a card for what it covers.

Four sources, four different questions
A bureau pull, a directorship register, an insolvency docket and a defaulter screen are not the same lookup. Pick one to watch that run on its own — the identifier going in, the exchange with the source, and the record that comes back.
Five fields, compared one at a time
Every field below is checked against a named source, not inferred. Open one to see the declared value beside what the source actually returned.
Credit delinquency status
Whether any credit facility is overdue, restructured or written off.
Where the answers come from
Four registries, queried directly. Open a card to see exactly what it returns.
Credit bureaus
36-month repayment history, DPD buckets, write-offs, restructuring and the enquiry footprint across CIBIL, Experian, Equifax and CRIF.
MCA / RoC directorships
Every DIN linked to the candidate's PAN — active, resigned or disqualified — with company name, CIN and appointment date.
IBBI insolvency records
Personal insolvency resolution processes and bankruptcy filings registered with the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India.
Wilful defaulter lists
Lists published under RBI guidelines naming borrowers and promoters classified as wilful defaulters by a consortium of lenders.
From consent to a routed decision
Three stages, the first two running for every candidate, the third only when something needs a human.
- PAN validated against declared name and date of birth
- Consent timestamped and stored against the case file
- Declared income and any known directorships captured upfront
- Credit bureau report pulled by PAN
- MCA master data searched by PAN and DIN
- IBBI register checked for insolvency proceedings
- Wilful defaulter lists cross-matched against the candidate and their directorships
- Undisclosed directorships and delinquencies flagged automatically
- Each flag carries its source and capture timestamp
- Reviewer records a decision against the case, not just a note
Touring all 3 — pick a step to hold it
A flag, and a clean pass, side by side
Not just a happy path — switch between a real financialDiscrepancy and a clean result to see how each one reaches an adjudicator, with the evidence attached exactly as they'd see it.

Read the adjudicator's note
The directorship sits in the same trading category as the employer. Papertrail does not decide employability — the flag and the filing it came from go to the employer's adjudicator, who weighs it against the offer.
- Method
- MCA master data searched by PAN and Director Identification Number, cross-referenced against the employer's declared industry code.

Read the adjudicator's note
Every field the candidate declared was corroborated by its source with no gaps. The case closes without routing to an adjudicator — the report ships as a clear result, not a hold.

Questions HR and risk teams actually ask
No. The check reports the delinquency as evidence — account type, write-off amount, how long ago it closed — and stops there. The employer's adjudicator weighs it against the role; a closed retail loan from three years ago reads very differently from an active default on a role that handles company funds.
It is still reported, whether or not it overlaps the employer's business — the flag is 'undisclosed', not 'disqualifying'. A dormant directorship in a family business the candidate simply forgot to declare reads very differently from an active directorship in a competitor.
The full repayment history — DPD buckets, write-offs, restructuring and the enquiry footprint — not a single score. A score alone can't distinguish a thin file from a genuine default, and the adjudicator needs that distinction.
A thin file is reported as exactly that, not treated as a red flag. Most first-time formal-sector employees have no bureau history at all, and the report says so rather than leaving the field blank.
The full record held by the IBBI's insolvency professional register — there is no rolling lookback window, since an insolvency filing does not age out of relevance the way a spent conviction might.
